All Iraq All the Time

Some more video from last night’s house meeting with Ned Lamont in New Haven. Many thanks to Jane for sharing her notes with me so I could isolate this video more quickly.

The most frequent criticism leveled against Ned Lamont by Joe and his supporters comes in two insulting parts:

  1. Joe purports that Ned Lamont is a single-issue candidate, which is demonstrably false if you watch this video.
  2. That the war is merely a single-issue, which is something that I see as a slap in the face to every single person whose life has been turned upside down by Joe’s continued cheerleading of Bush’s failed war in Iraq.

It’s really Joe who is making this all Iraq all the time, by refusing to budge on the issue.

Ned also pointed out that Joe Lieberman was the only New England Democrat to vote for the Bush-Cheney energy bill–the one that subsidizes oil companies to drill for oil.

In the last half of this clip, Ned talks about how Senator Lieberman was quite comfortable with censuring President Clinton back in 1999, but when it comes to the illegal domestic phone-tapping, Senator Lieberman just wants to make it legal. Ned speaks about the Democrats’ unwillingness (Lieberman included) to stand with Senator Feingold to censure the President–an action that would send a clear message to the President and his party that they will be held accountable.

Remember, today is Blogosphere Day, and Ned is matching all online contributions. Kill two birds with one stone and contribute via my personal fundraising page–not only does it help rock my boat (see sidebar), your contribution is also subject to Ned’s matching funds.
