Ned Lamont – A Pro-LGBT Candidate
The most fun I’ve had following the Lamont campaign since the convention (which will be hard to top) was on Friday night at an LGBT house party in West Hartford. As is typical of Ned’s campaign events, the house was overflowing with supporters. Not as typical of Ned’s campaign events, the food was out-of-this-world awesome. Shawn generously opened her home to a huge crowd, and even grilled me a fresh burger long after everyone else had eaten–I had gotten carried away talking politics and forgot to fix myself a plate of food.
I’ll have some video in the next day or so, as well as a couple of pictures, but I wanted to share some of the LGBT issues that Ned Lamont supports:
- Marriage equality for same-sex couples
- Expansion of Non-Discrimination and Hate Crimes Laws
- Privacy and the protection of civil liberties
- Increased funding for HIV/AIDS
