Rell’s Selective Memory and Lack of Issues
Back in 1992, now-accidental governor and then-state legislator M. Jodi Rowland-Rell joined six Republicans in lonely opposition to funding for Head Start.
In today’s Courant, Rowland-Rell’s spokesman Rich Harris:
“The governor says she doesn’t recall the vote,” Harris said Tuesday. “It was 14 years ago, but she does know she would never vote against funding for Head Start.”
Also from today’s Courant, Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate John DeStefano’s spokesman, Derek Slap:
“It made enough sense for 140 lawmakers to vote for it,” Slap said. “The onus is on Gov. Rell to explain why she joined with only six legislators to vote against this. It’s just odd that she just remembers enough to say it’s administrative but can’t say why she voted against it.”
I think it’s a legitimate expectation. M. Jodi Rowland-Rell hasn’t really answered any questions, and a quick glance at the issues page on her website (which has been “under construction” for a very long time) gives you an idea of what she’s running on–nothing.
She wants to continue being governor by default, and that is almost as big a disgrace as her former boss John Rowland.
Thanks, Spazeman. You nailed this post.
I want to hear more about Jodi’s voting record.
I also want to know how many credits she needs to complete her degree.
Whoa – I just googled “In Praise of Public Life” on a whim. One of the first things I found was an interview of Lieberman for the 700 Club. Seems that Lieberman’s been cozying up to the Pat Robertson types for some time now. Here’s the link:

The “accidental governor”! I love it!
We have to always refer to Rell that way, to remind people that she wasn’t elected, but only gained the office when her boss was dragged out of the State Capitol in chains.
