Sunday Joe, on Monday

Yesterday, both of Connecticut’s Senators appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press. Did Joe Lieberman pledge to return Chris Dodd the favor of supporting him through the primary (in Dodd’s pursuit of the Presidency)? Nope.

Did Dodd point out the folly of escalation to Lieberman? Nope again. Republican Senator Chuck Hagel did though:

From ConnecticutBLOG:

Good ol’ Holy Joe went back to the “Dick Cheney well of scare tactics” by ONCE AGAIN linking 9/11 and Iraq (who’s STILL buying that line), criticizing anyone who disagrees with the President (which would be a majority of the public), and claiming the other Iraq proposals “retreat” and “defeat” (a.k.a. cut and run).

Ironically, it took a Republican to do something that the Democrats should’ve done a long time ago…put the former DINOboy in his place.

Anyone who fell for Lieberman’s line of bullshit that “no one wants to end the war in Iraq more than I do” is among what are arguably the most gullible group of voters in the history of our state, if not nation.

Chris Dodd doesn’t have a prayer of getting the nomination so why he’s pandering to the likes of LIEberman is ridiculous. He’s walking a dangerous path in doing so.

Spazeboy, on a different topic, I just looked at your Amazon wish list and find out that we share the same booklist and birth day (6/11)! Even though we are two different generations apart, great minds still run together!

P.S. “two generations apart” but not so different since my generation was protesting Vietnam and now yours is doing the same with Iraq, another senseless war! Unfortunately, instead of learning from history, we just repeat it!

Well I guess Lieberman told Dodd yesterday on ‘Meet the Press’ – not only will he not support him, but he’s staying out of presidential politics. Yeah, right. If anybody believes him, then just ask him why he’s sitting on John McCain’s lap! I can’t recall when I’ve last seen such treachery in a senator. I smell a schlemiel and his name is Lieberman.
