The Applications are In
As of yesterday, my transfer applications to both Trinity College and Wesleyan University are submitted and complete. I’m feeling optimistic, so let’s say that both schools accept me. I’ll be faced with a tough decision.
What do you think?

I’m not necessarily going to abide by the results of the poll, but I am wondering what the people who read my blog think. I think I’ll be lucky to be accepted to at least one of them.
Congrats on getting the apps in; that’s a lot of work.
I voted Wesleyan just because I spent one of the greatest summers of my life there in high school as a scholarship student at a program called the Center for Creative Youth. Living in Wesleyan dorms over the summer inspired me to reach beyond what I had imagined for my own future and aim to apply for every scholarship I could possibly qualify for so I could go away to college out of state. And I did it! I’ll always have a fondness for Wesleyan because of that.
You mean you’re not going to let your readers decide your future? Bah! Where is the fun in that?
I would like to take back my vote! I voted before I read that this was non-binding…
I refuse to vote on the grounds that you are smart enough to chose what is best for yourself… And even if you weren’t I still wouldn’t vote! heh
Wow, this has gotten a greater response so far than I anticipated. I should have been clearer and said that I think I’ll be lucky to be accepted to either of them instead of saying “at least one of them.”
That’s the dilemma. They are both amazing schools. They both have unique selling points (maybe I’ll detail the ones important to me in a near-future post). I’ve applied to both.
Whether I’m accepted at either, neither, or both, at least I didn’t sell myself short.
I voted Trinity because Hartford has good transit links (bus, rail) to other cities like NY and Boston. You have demonstrated an interest in politics so you could cover the State Capital with minimal effort if you went to school in Hartford. I also like the film series that they run at Cinestudio at Trinity. But both are good schools.
Hey Beau! My first transfer choice is Weslyan, and it would be really nice to have a friend there :}
On a more serious note, I think Weslyan is more “you”. No worries; you’ll do well anywhere you go!
Pft Wesleyan obvi.
When do you find out?
Keith,
I find out around May 15, according to all the transfer app documentation.
I love Wesleyan. I occasionally take Anne Greene’s graduate writing classes and attended the Wes Writer’s Conference two years ago. My writers’ collective has done readings at Green Street Arts Center and the Buttonwood Tree–the energy around Wes is wonderful.
Also, It’s Only Natural has sweet potato fries that are to die for. This fact should not be overlooked!
