Zeitgeist Tracklist Announced

The July 7, 2007 release date can’t come soon enough. Not only does the album come out that Saturday, I also have tickets to see The Smashing Pumpkins at Live Earth.
A little taste of the album, in the form of a preview at Billboard.com:

“Is everyone afraid? Has everyone changed?,” Corgan sings on opener “Doomsday Clock,” a big, loud rocker in the vein of “Geek U.S.A.” from “Siamese Dream.” The set is frontloaded with songs of this ilk, hearkening back to the grunge era with detuned guitars and pounding drums on tracks such as “Tarantula,” “Orchid” and “7 Shades of Black.”

I’ll be honest here. I’m not getting excited just by hearing the song titles, or some of the opening lyrics. It almost gives me pause, reminding me of the old saying “Be careful what you wish for…” The genie cannot be put back into the bottle, the Pumpkins are back–but will I be disappointed?
Also from Billboard.com:

Here is the track list for “Zeitgeist”:

“Doomsday Clock”
“7 Shades of Black”
“Orchid”
“That’s the Way”
“Tarantula”
“Starz”
“United States”
“Never Lost”
“Bring the Light”
“Come On (Let’s Go)”
“For God and Country”
“Pomp and Circumstance”

I’m excited about the reunion, but I have changed and I am a little afraid…

That sounds like a really good lineup actually. Kind of like Live 8 a few years ago. I wish Pink Floyd would reunite again AND NOT IN ENGLAND. I’d go to see Roger Waters, buuut…. I like David Gilmour better. Although Waters has a great voice, he just can’t cover the Gilmour shit. He just can’t. All your bands getting back together, Beau – Smashing Pumpkins, Conjunctivitis (sp?). You’re one lucky guy, haha.
