Anybody know anything about Sen. David Capiello’s business dealings? He’s a subprime mortgage lendor for a shadowy outfit calling itself “Charter Funding.”
Charter Funding seems to be a franchise of an Arizona outfit, First Magnus Corporation. Rumors are out that FMC is about to fold under mountains of bad subprime debt… I wonder how many Connecticut homeowners have been screwed by Capiello’s adjustable rate mortgages and are now facing foreclosure. Anybody know?

Charter Funding also does business under a number of other names… Great SouthWest Mortgage, Starwin Mortgage Services, etc.
They have been accused of fraudulent and predatory lending practices in a number of states… but I’m not sure yet about CT. Certainly a strange outfit for Sen. Capiello to be affiliated with.
