Young Dems Endorse Wyskiewicz

Good news for Jim Wyskiewicz today — he’s been endorsed by the CT Young Democrats! Here’s an excerpt from the press release:

Alderman Wyskiewicz was interviewed by several representatives on these and other issues before his endorsement was voted upon by the state party caucus. Ultimately, Jim Wyskiewicz’s campaign was recognized as a living embodiment of youth inclusion, given its growing legion of active interns and student representatives contributing several hours a week knocking on doors and calling on voters since the announcement of his candidacy in early April.

As Jim Wyskiewicz attests, “Getting our youth involved is what it’s all about. Their participation strengthens us as a municipality. We are enriched by their commitment to our campaign and we will remain connected and inspired as an administration.”

Alderman Wyskiewicz’ platforms for economic development and education were also recognized by the Connecticut Young Democrats. “Our kids must be focused on their learning and not distracted by the overcrowding or lack of materials or lack of funding which currently threatens their education. Similarly, our development, our economic initiatives, and our downtown must lend themselves toward the retention of our youth and of all their contributions as an integral part of our society and our future.”

It’s important to get the young folks on your side. I don’t know what kinds of resources come along with the endorsement of CT’s Young Democrats, but I hope that with CCSU in town that the Young Dems nod to Wyskiewicz will activate the college Dems there.
