Blogging Scholarship Finalists Announced
Etc. October 8th, 2007Today the finalists were announced for the blogging scholarship I posted about last week. There are 20 finalists, and the top vote-getter walks away with a $10,000 scholarship. Here are the finalists:
Uhm, yeah…my name isn’t on the list.
Wait a minute! That’s preposterous!! Why, if I’m not on the ballot, how will I get money for school!?!??!? It’s too bad that one can’t just sue random bloggers for large amounts of money…because that never works.</inside-joke>
On a more serious note, I want to thank the people who took the time to nominate me. I’d also like to congratulate the 20 finalists. What I’ve found is a list of 20 great student blogs I’ve never read before.
So pick your favorite, and click here to vote. I’m putting my vote in for Stephanie Collins because I just started reading her blog “Poorer Than You” 10 minutes ago and she’s already earned me a $10 gift certificate to Amazon.com. I’m totally going to put $30 worth of quarters in the Coinstar machine next time I go to Big Y so I can get a bonus $10 Amazon.com gift certificate. Sure I’ll have to wait 6-8 weeks to get the extra $10 code, but that’s a 33% return on investment!

Thank you so much - not only for your vote, but for writing about it! I’m glad you’re getting that extra $10 from Coinstar - a friend and I just went to the Coinstar machine two weeks ago and put in $50 worth of change for an Amazon.com gift certificate, not knowing that if we’d waited two weeks, we’d get some free money! Oh well - at least I can write about it and get it for some other people!

You should be on that list, my friend.
