Ned Lamont Endorses Democratic Challengers

Ned Lamont will be liveblogging at My Left Nutmeg Tuesday 10/30 around 1pm

Ned Lamont certainly could be forgiven if he stayed out of politics for awhile after last year’s Senate race, but that’s not Ned. He represents the future of the Democratic Party, and he’s using the good will that he earned last year to endorse a handful of Democratic Challengers across the state:

Over at My Left Nutmeg, Kim Hynes makes the same point that I was going to make here, which is that Ned Lamont could max out contributions to every good Democrat in the state, but that his endorsement is far more valuable:

Ned added value by endorsing local candidates which is far in excess of any monetary donation he could have made. The local candidates get press, attention, and good will which they would not receive without high profile endorsements/campaigning.

What Ned is traveling the state doing for local progressive candidates goes far beyond the state of his pocketbook.

Hey ya Spazeboy! You seem to be a bit mathematically challenged, for a College Boy…

First the cute Spazeboy image has only 4 digits per hand, now you claim that Ned Lamont has 6 fingers!

I have to assume it was his left hand when he decided to “endorse a handful of Democratic Challengers across the state” and there are 6 headshots!

Could Ya Dig-It? I knew that you would…
    Teeheehee Mr. Spazeboyman.

Just thought it was worth pointing out — Luis Cotto, candidate for Hartford City Council, is not running as a Democrat, but as the candidate of the Working Families Party. (So I guess it is a handful of 5 Democrats, plus one from the WFP.)

Luis Cotto is a fantastic progressive, and a candidate I’m extremely proud to support.

The Dems can only win 6 of the 9 seats on the Council because of ‘minority representation.’ And we think that the three Working Families Party candidates – true community activists fighting for good jobs, good schools, affordable housing, and a clean and healthy environment) will represent Hartford from those other three seats much better than the Republicans would.

(The WFP has a great history of playing nice with progressive Democrats, a la Chris Murphy in ‘06 and the handful (yep, 5) of Dems in New Britain the WFP is cross-endorsing.)
