Speaking of Colin
Yes, Colin McEnroe’s on the show Monday. I’ve informed the media (CTN will be there), the Facebook group “Bring Back Colin McEnroe,” and the Governor’s office (they declined comment). It will be the most important event of the winter in Connecticut, no question. Plus, he’ll probably make fun of me.

Where We Live airs on WNPR weekdays at 9:00 am, and you can listen online as well.

And in a way, I’m back too, dipping my toes into the frigid blogwater one post at a time.
The Onion…

…gives me pause about Obama. As Kevin Henry asks, “Do We Really Want Another Black President After the Events of Deep Impact?“

…was the only news organization to cover Romney’s latest ad — Depressed Candidate Runs Attack Ad About Self

…covered the possibility of Hillary Clinton running for President way back in 2004. Hillary in 2004?

…has the news-world’s most honest profile of Rudy Giuliani. His position on the Iraq War for instance, is to “to stick it out until he finds a prettier, younger country to invade.”

…reported on the time back in 2003 when Chris Dodd saved the U.S. Constitution.

Wade, my reasons have not changed:

I’m pro-choice because the circumstances under which women may need to make a choice are infinite.

I’m pro-choice because I’m a man who is very much pro-woman.

I’m pro-choice because I have no interest in establishing government jurisdiction over the uterus.

Another reason why I am pro-choice has recently occurred to me. I am also pro-choice because of the sad state of affairs that is abstinence-only education. Encouraging teens to be abstinent is a worthy (if impossible) goal, but not at the expense of leaving them unprepared to practice safe sex. It’s like taking a bunch of kids whitewater rafting without life preservers — after all, if they stay in the boat, they won’t need them. In circumstances like these, unplanned pregnancies are more likely. Freedom of choice is necessary.

Tessa and TigerGrrl74 are also participating in Blog for Choice Day over at MLN.
