Handheld Microphone

Since one of the most important features to look for in a camera is the microphone input, you’ve probably guessed that you’ll need to shop for a handheld microphone. Odds are that your Mini-DV camera has a 1/8” input jack for a microphone, and so you’ll want to pick up a microphone that is compatible with that setup. The inexpensive handheld microphones—those costing $20-$30—should have the 1/8” plug standard, with a ¼” adapter (hold onto it, but you won’t need it for any videoblogging purposes).
